European patent validation in Sweden
Validate your granted European patent in Sweden.
How does validation work In Sweden?
As Sweden is the member of the European Patent Agreement, the European Patent can enjoy protection in Sweden after the process of validation. Sweden participates in the Unitary Patent system as well.
necessary documents: translation + Power of attorney
As Sweden has a different official language than the EPO, it is always obligatory to translate the claims to Swedish. If the B1 document is in English, only the Swedish translation of the claims has to be submitted. On the other hand, if the patent was granted with either a French or German description, an English or a Swedish translation of the description can be filed as well, along with the required Swedish claims.
Power of Attorney is not required for a validation in Sweden.
