WHAT ARE THE COSTS?
This validation package includes 9 countries for only €590. No other fees occur. For other countries there are three parts of the validation costs: translation fees, official fees and service fees. Pintz & Partners' service fees are very competitive because our firm can file directly in many countries without having to pay third parties for the validation.
WHAT IS THE DEADLINE FOR EUROPEAN PATENT VALIDATION?
In most countries (other than these 9 countries in the package) there is a 3-month-long term for validation. The deadline is calculated from the publication date of the grant. The granting of the European patents are published in the Bulletin weekly. A quick example: if the grant of your patent was published on Jan. 3, 2022, the validation deadline is Apr. 3, 2022.
However, to file address for service in these 9 countries there is no deadline. So, if you only need your patent to be valid in these countries, do not worry about the 3-month-long period.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?
You will be asked to provide the European Patent number, and we will take care of the process after that. We will contact you after your order to send you the Power of Attorney forms you need to sign.
What is the process in these countries?
In these 9 countries there is no “validation” necessary, meaning that there is no need to file a translation or a request to validate the granted European patent. However, it is useful to file an address for service in these patent offices so that the applicant can be contacted if an issue arises, for example if an annuity payment was missed. (Please note that some offices do not send any kind of reminders or notifications, but most of them do.) Our service for EUR 590 includes filing ourselves as address for service in all of these 9 countries. In this way the communication is prompt and simple, you will have one point of contact.
